Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I review everything I read - which is a lot of YA and thrillers. I'd love to hear what you're reading, so please leave me a note!

THE BOOK OF M

THE BOOK OF M

I was so impressed with this dystopian/post-apocalyptic novel. The concept was so intriguing, people losing their shadows and then their memories. The story follows husband and wife Ory and Max, and what happens when Max loses her shadow.

I think what impressed me the most about the book is that the author never got tangled up in minutia that diluted the story. The original concept stayed clear and interesting and while the entire premise was fascinating, it was the characters that truly made the novel so gripping.

I loved the alternating viewpoints, a style that doesn’t always work for me. The additional characters were introduced in such a smooth way that I felt myself attached to so many throughout the story. I also loved the way the author transformed so many well-known cities and items into new and unique ideas.

I don’t give a ton of 5 star reviews but I so enjoyed this novel, it was so exciting to read. I received an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
